Capability Tour
Compass's state-of-the-art Freedom-Drive I™ active full-time 4WD system anticipates the need for added traction on and off road and responds to wheel slippage automatically to help ensure you have a safe and carefree driving experience.

Freedom-Drive I features an Electromagnetic Controlled Coupling (ECC), which constantly monitors wheel slippage and transfers torque to the axle that can use it most. During high-traction driving, like on the highway, the system transfers virtually no torque to the rear axle for improved fuel economy but instantly transfers torque to the rear wheels when conditions call for it.

The four-wheel-drive “LOCK” mode is recommended for deep snow, deep sand and other low-traction surfaces.

Both the standard full-time and LOCK modes include many standard safety features including:

• Driver-controlled three-mode Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

Powertrain

We’re confident in our vehicles and we’re backing them with a new 5-year / 100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty. The powertrain limited warranty covers the cost of all parts and labor needed to repair a covered powertrain component – engine, transmission and drive system – on most new Dodge, Jeep® and Chrysler vehicles. Coverage now also includes free towing to the nearest Dodge, Jeep® or Chrysler dealer, if necessary. The warranty is transferable too, so if you sell your vehicle during the warranty period, the new owner will still be covered.

Plus, our 3-year / 36,000-mile Basic Limited Warranty provides bumper-to-bumper coverage for your vehicle, from the body to the electrical system.

During extreme steering maneuvers the standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system helps maintain control by sensing when the vehicle is starting to over - or understeer.

The system automatically applies individual brakes or controls the throttle to help you stay safely on course. When you don't want the extra hand, ESC is specially tuned for performance handling so you can switch it off.

The Freedom-Drive I™ full-time active 4WD system responds to wheel slippage by transferring power equally to the front and rear wheels, improving vehicle stability.

Theft Deterrents
The remote keyless entry fob controls door and tailgate locks, and includes a panic alarm for extra security, putting both convenience and security at your fingertips.

The Sentry Key® Engine Immobilizer is a convenient feature that helps provide additional safety when entering the vehicle at night. It's a great feature that makes sure your vehicle never goes anywhere without your permission.

A security alarm, as part of the Security and Convenience Group, helps deter would-be thieves from breaking into your Compass.

A remote start system is also available.

Added Protection
Compass features a standard bright, dual-purpose, removable and rechargeable cargo lamp / flashlight. When mounted in the headliner, the flashlight battery is recharged while the light is used as the cargo lamp. Brilliant!
